Texturing your jewellery

Texturing your jewellery

I offer a couple of different textures to bring a little more life and character to your pieces: hammered and peined.

Peining involves using a rounded hammer to create lots of small, pebble-like dents across the metal. Hammered uses a slightly rounded hammer to create larger, more defined dents.

When it comes to combining stamping and texture, I like to keep the stamping to a minimum. Lots of stamping combined with heavy texturing can put extra strain on the metal, and because every piece is handmade, the final result can be a little unpredictable.

If you'd like your piece both stamped and textured, I recommend keeping the stamping simple and minimal for the best result.

For simplicity, you'll see “hammered” and “textured” used throughout my product descriptions.
